Studying law
I have always been captivated by people who has the strength to dedicate at least four years of their life to an education they believe is right for them. I mean, what if they wake up one day and realize that a future job at a law firm is not at all what they want? Perhaps they want to be in the advertising business and work with TV-commercials? Has their four years of studying law then gone to a total waste?
You may think I am just talking in my sleep, but I have seen this happen and it was not funny at all. Just because my friends parents always wanted her to be a lawyer, they pushed her into getting the grades she needed so she could get in at one of the best law schools. Without speaking out her own will, she followed her parent’s wishes and finished her degree in law. A few months after that, she admitted to her parents that this was not her own wishes, and that she was going to aim for a career in Public Relations instead. A shocking reveal, but in the end her parents did understand and accepted her decision. So my final advice to you all is to always follow your own heart and wishes. That is the only way to be both successful and happy with your life.
