The game of cricket originated in Britain and the game has spread all over the world and it has made many commercial opportunities to arise. The sport has drawn a large number of fans from all over the world and this includes the kids, youth and elders. It is believed that cricket was played from way back in the 11th century. The game continued it development and in 1744 the standard rules were composed but the governing body did not exist until in 1787 it became know as the MCC - Marylebone Cricket Club.
The MCC was setup to protect the laws and regulations of the game and it was made the international cricket guardian. Up until now the MCC still remains copyright owners of the laws of Cricket’. The first international game was between Canada and USA in 1844 held in New Jersey. The MCC then encouraged international teams to partake in the international events and this was the very moment when cricket started spreading all over the world. Read more about this at Sportspundit.
The first international teams were 8 and this later on expanded to 15 teams by 1900 with the addition of teams like Glamorgan (1921), and Northamptonshire (1905). The championship was not properly arranged and in 1968 a new format was organized. The championship became a two division and more teams were added totaling 18 but they were suffering from revenue from the crowd which was decreasing and covering of overheads became tense.
Australia and England began to play against other countries internationally and in 1888 South Africa was made a test cricket nation. Other countries then followed and these were New Zealand, India and West Indies. In 1947 Pakistan was officially made a test cricket nation.
No major changes took place until 1970 when South Africa was suspended due to their new government policy known as the apartheid. The ODI- One Day cricket was formed and the first game was playing between England and Australia. The ODI made an attraction world wide and the MCC started to realize revenue flowing in. At present the world cup cricket tournament is held after every four years and it is a One Day international Tournament.
In 1993 the MCC handed over authority to the ICC – International Cricket Council and making the domestic affairs to be handled by ECB – England/Wales Cricket Board. The MCC still holds the copyrights of the Laws of the game.
The ICC is in total control of the world cricket tournaments up until now and other countries have gained test status and these include Zimbabwe, Sri-Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Studying law

I have always been fascinated by those who had the energy to study law. First of all, it seems very difficult, but mostly it seems to take all of your free time. It appears that studying law is more than just a regular course. It is rather a lifestyle, then just an education you are going through. So how come I know this without actually studying law for four years? I actually know all of this because many of friends and siblings have studied law at Princeton University and I have an oncle with a law firm on Malta. I am guessing that you have heard of Princeton, and that is why we can all imagine how much work an effort law studies can be.

I have always been captivated by people who has the strength to dedicate at least four years of their life to an education they believe is right for them. I mean, what if they wake up one day and realize that a future job at a law firm is not at all what they want? Perhaps they want to be in the advertising business and work with TV-commercials? Has their four years of studying law then gone to a total waste?

You may think I am just talking in my sleep, but I have seen this happen and it was not funny at all. Just because my friends parents always wanted her to be a lawyer, they pushed her into getting the grades she needed so she could get in at one of the best law schools. Without speaking out her own will, she followed her parent’s wishes and finished her degree in law. A few months after that, she admitted to her parents that this was not her own wishes, and that she was going to aim for a career in Public Relations instead. A shocking reveal, but in the end her parents did understand and accepted her decision. So my final advice to you all is to always follow your own heart and wishes. That is the only way to be both successful and happy with your life.

Poker is a card game where players bet depending on the amount of the card combination ("hand") that they have. They place this best in a common place – referred to in poker terms as a central pot. The winner is one whose cumulative card combination is the maximum. One more method to determine the winner would be to look for the one who remains in the hand even after all the other players have folded up. This being the underlying rule of poker, there definitely can be differences depending on the rules and regulations that govern the cards and bets. Based on these, the different versions are named straight, stud, draw and community.
Again there are single table tournaments and multi table tournaments. In multi-table tournaments players play at more than on table, is it tow or twenty or even two hundred. The best entry point to gain entry to a major poker even without depositing a major amount of money is the satellite tournaments to high-profile, expensive poker tournaments. The buy-ins for these games are very less – almost just one-tenth to one-fiftieth of the buy in of the main tournament. The other major advantage is that these tournaments can be conducted anywhere or everywhere or even online. The winners or top listed players in this tournament are awarded entry into the main tournament instead of cash prizes – more or less a wild card entry in certain other sports. We need to make special mention of Chris Moneymaker here. He was the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champion and had gained entry into the actual tournament by winning one of the online Tournaments and his buy-in was a surprisingly low $39 buy-in. In 2004, Greg Raymer, won the World Series of Poker championships, through the seat he got while winning a $165 online poker tournament.
In a single-table tournament or an STT, there are certain numbers of places assigned to a particular table and play at that table starts when the specified numbers of players are ready and have taken their positions. Because these games start off when all their players are seated, these games are fondly referred to as sit and go tournaments.
Chips are the primary currency for the game of poker and are available with the casino representative. In some casinos, we find chip runners to facilitate selling chips to the players. Each and every casino has its own set of regulations – for example, some of them do not allow their players to use cash to play and some others don’t allow their players to buy from each other at the table.
The first ever poker games in the history of poker tournaments began in 1970 and that was when eminent champions like Johnny Moss, Amarillo Slim, Bobby Baldwin, Doyle Brunson, and Puggy Pearson plunged into the limelight. Poker became very prominent thanks to books like The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky. The best was yet to come and poker continued to grow through 80’s and 90’s. It was during this time that the innovative minds invented online poker and poker started being played in drawing rooms as well.

Online poker rooms must be thriving in business for this to grow and reap more benefits. Since making money out of these casinos is of ultimate importance to these house owners, they put into vogue certain intelligent methods to raise their profits and make more money on their businesses. They collect Rake from most real money ring game pots and this is usually levied as a part of the prize depending on some slide scale and topped at some high fee. This being said, the amount and fixation of the rake for every online poker game is at complete judgment of the owner. However this does not apply to pre-scheduled multi-table and extempore sit-and-go tournaments. In these cases, an extra entry fee is charged by these poker rooms. This entry fee mostly ranges around ten percent of the actual fee – that is the tournament fee and this gets added to the tournament cost. Sometimes, what these houses do is they also offer black jack or side bets on poker hands on their online poker sites. On these sites, the players play for real money against these houses. Since the odds are against the favor of the houses, the online poker houses make more money than the players actually do. Also these online poker houses collect money as deposit from their players. There is no clause that binds them to pay these players the interest on the deposit money and hence these online poker houses reap a double benefit when they invest this money in other funds or financial institutions.

The most initial games to be conducted somewhere external to the Binion's Horseshoe Casino where the 2005 World Series of Poker games. A lot of Backgammon is also played there. The last days of the primary event were however held in the historic Benny's Bullpen. For tournaments that were played at various later stages, either of the Harrah's Entertainment properties served as the venue, but since 2005, the venue has been the Rio. Across the continent of Europe, the most celebrated is the WSOP Europe which had its genesis in 2007. Annette Obrestad had the pride to become the first ever winner of the same. Betfair has offered to sponsor the WSOP Europe games till 2011. Other tournaments that are broadcasted by the World Poker Tour include various tournaments with buy-ins starting anywhere from $ 5,000 to $25,000 all across US and the Caribbean. Of these various events, some that need special mention because of the fact that they stand alone is the Caribbean Poker Adventure. However, most of these tournaments are held in combination with tournaments that are being conducted at the casino which is the host like the Commerce Casino's LA Poker Classic, the Grand Sierra's World Poker Challenge and the Bicycle Casino's Legends of Poker.
The press and media are using the high end technological developments to publish the results and updates of poker games being played all over the globe and this is playing a major role in poker attaining far reaching heights by getting to the masses.

I have decided to buy a car, but I don’t really have the money for it. I know that within a year I will have a lot more money than I do now, so I have decided to take a loan to afford the car. I have decided to buy a Mercedes that is both classic and functional. I have bought a house on the countryside, and I will save both time and money by taking the car instead of waiting for trains and buses. I am tired of spending a whole day on transports, waiting by bus stops and reading time schedules. With car it will be a joy to go to my house instead of a never-ending figuring out how to get there and home. Especially if there will be autumn- and winter journeys; then it is hopeless to wait for different forms of transports in the wet cold. Also, I think that the service is so poor on trains. Dry cheese sandwiches, rude guards and that smell of banana and plastic bags…

Two of my friends have the kind of car I am intending to buy, and they are both satisfied with it. I feel pretty comfortable getting myself a car like that, partially because I have gotten a higher pay, and because it is such a good investment. Also, lately I have been winning quite a lot of money playing poker.

The only thing that interests me more than cars is gambling – and poker in particular.

I saw a really crappy movie yesterday – "What Happens in Vegas". I had read in the newspaper that it was a poorly made movie, but I wasn’t ready for how bad the film actually was. When I had seen about forty minutes of it I decided to turn it off. I mean, I like both Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher, but this was absurd. I am actually amazed that a movie so filled with jokes could be so empty of laughter. I really tried to see the fun stuff in some of the situations, but it was just too staged, too rehearsed, too far fetched.

The movie is about a man and a woman, our anti heroes, who get’s married on a whim while getting drunk in Vegas. The morning after when they have already settled for an annulment, they accidentally win three million dollars. In court the judge claims that they have to give their marriage a real shot before getting any money what-so-ever, so after having fought in a couple of “comic” scenes, they actually start giving their accidental marriage a try. I didn’t have to see the whole movie to figure out how it would all end, and I sure wasn’t interested enough to do so either.

I am surprised that well-paid comedians such as Diaz and Kutcher actually agreed to make a film like this, it could very well be the end of both of their careers. At least if we are talking high budget movies. Who gave this movie a budget, I have no idea.

After having turned off the movie I went online instead. Lately I have been on the lookout for more exclusive online stores, but I haven’t found too many that can actually live up to my demands. I am especially searching for watch stores and jewellery stores. There is a couple of jewellery stores online that I like, but it wasn’t until a few days ago that I found a decent watch store. Now I am thinking about buying an Omega, but I haven’t chosen the model yet. I just know that they make the best watches.

I saw a really crappy movie yesterday – “What Happens in Vegas”.

I am amazed by some of the poker players that are out there. A couple of weeks ago I read about this woman who had won a fairly big tournament while being in her ninth month.

That is nothing short of incredible. Maybe their motivation is the pregnancy. Like wanting to be able to provide for the child with money they win, or just too loose their anxiety by focusing on something else for a moment. What I have heard about pregnancy is that it makes you unbelievably tired. I could never play poker if I was tired.

Another really cool king of poker player is a man from California who was in a car crash and got blind from the horrible accident. His name is Jason Holbrook and he was only 21 at the time. Before this, he used to be a terrific poker player, but he lost his eye sight after the crash and was informed that he wouldn’t be able to see again. Instead of hanging his head for the rest of his life, he slowly started to fight this problem. He actually started playing again, showing the world that he hadn’t surrendered to his condition. He got help from a person whispering what cards he had and what the community cards were. He also whispered how the other players were betting, which of course is an important part of the game. However, he was not allowed to tell Holbrook what the other players were looking like (like, if they seemed concerned).

When the WSOP Main Event arrived Jason won $10 000 in it, through this way of playing!

He now says that he feels that his blindness is sometimes to his advantage, since it makes him so perceptive of other things. He has also developed a much better hearing.

There is also one guy name Phil “The poker brat” Hellmuth, who I am impressed by since he won the same competition at the age of 24. At that point he had won ten WSOP bracelets!

Today he has won like $5,000,000 from the WSOP alone and he has around $8.6 million in live tournament earnings. He is also very focused on his family life, which I think speak good of him. “Family always comes first”, he says, and I agree.
